Hello, my name is Venisha Murphy. I was born and raised in New York City. As a sophomore in college, I had the opportunity to work for the city comptroller’s office directly across the street from the World Trade Center with a view of the Brooklyn Bridge. I have so many fond memories of NYC; it will always be a part of me.
Today, I am married with four children and currently teach 6th-grade science at Carnage Middle School. In 1995 I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from the SUNY College at Old Westbury. After graduating, I decided to visit my mother in Pinehurst, NC. While in NC, I met my husband, Dion Murphy, a sergeant stationed at Fort Bragg. In 2001 I entered the lateral entry program at Fayetteville State University, completing my required education courses while teaching. Three years later, in the spring of 2004, I completed my course requirements and passed my Praxis receiving my certification in grades 6-9 middle school science. I joined the Carnage family in 2007 and received my AIG certification from East Carolina University in 2009. |
